MUNICIPAL LITIGATION

Public Officials' Liability. Howd & Ludorf, LLC, attorneys regularly represents selectmen, council members, and other municipal officials in suits brought for civil rights violation, including First Amendment, Due Process, Equal Protection, Fair Housing Act and unconstitutional takings claims. Howd & Ludorf, LLC, attorneys also represent land use boards, commissions and employees in civil rights lawsuits related to the granting or denial of approvals, certificates and permits, based on due process and equal protection claims. Finally, Howd & Ludorf, LLC, attorneys represent municipal officials and municipalities in contractual claims, as well as claims lodged against building officials and fire officials regarding inspections and the issuance or denial of permits.
Police Professional Liability. Howd & Ludorf, LLC, attorneys defend the full spectrum of police professional liability claims in both state and federal courts, including claims based on use of excessive force, including deadly force; wrongful arrest; illegal search; failure to protect; jail suicides; police pursuits; failure to provide adequate medical treatment to persons in custody; racial profiling; and all due process and equal protection claims.
School Leaders' Liability.
