Michael’s practice is dedicated to complex civil litigation defense with a particular focus on products liability, toxic torts, insurance coverage, and commercial disputes. He works with a diverse cross section of the Firm’s clients, including insurance companies, corporations, and product manufacturers and sellers.
Following graduation from law school, Michael practiced maritime litigation at a leading admiralty firm in Seattle defending commercial fishing companies and cruise lines against personal injury and wrongful death claims. In that capacity, Michael also handled commercial disputes, advised businesses and insurers on contractual matters and coverage issues, and assessed risk for corporate clients with multi-jurisdictional exposures. He also served on the Board of Directors for a Seattle-based maritime insurance association.
Prior to relocating to Massachusetts in 2016, Michael was a trial attorney at a nationally recognized criminal defense firm. He defended only the most serious felonies and has tried more than a dozen high-profile cases to verdict in federal and state courts, several of which garnered national media attention. Michael’s varied practice background and trial experience give him a unique perspective on his clients’ legal issues that allows him to advocate effectively and attain successful resolutions of the most challenging cases.
Outside the office Michael is an avid golfer and skier, and has an expanding collection of vintage vinyl records. He also enjoys home brewing craft beer, and spending time outdoors exploring New England with his family.
